Kathy Mester-Potter, LPN, SA-C
Kathy Mester-Potter attained her LPN Certification at Boise State University in 1986, and split her time between working in the operating room at Holy Rosary Medical Center and United Ambulance, setting her sights on advancing her career in medicine.
A move to Portland Oregon in 1996 brought her to a position working in the operating room at Oregon Health Sciences University, where she found herself advancing into the open heart, transplant, trauma and specialty teams.
Kathy joined NW Urology in 2001 and became a Nationally Certified First Assistant and has since logged over 2000 robotic cases specializing in oncology as well as pediatric urology.
During her time at NW Urology she has performed first-assist duties with the staff surgeons there, and she has helped start the robotic program at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital. Kathy has been integral in training numerous Physician Assistants, as well as other new First Assistants in the role of bedside assistant for robotic surgeries. As of this writing, Kathy has over 28 years of extensive experience in the operating room.
Kathy’s interests include travel, entertaining, cooking and gardening.
